State of Louisiana, Parish of Claiborne
We the undersigned having been regularly baptized and having given ourselves to the Lord, and to one another by the will of God, do this day agree to the following covenant, viz.
First We agree to assemble one in each month to attend to the business in the house of God, and not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of home is
Second We agree to watch over each other for good and not for evil
Third We agree to bear each others burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ
Fourth We agree to treat our servants with humanity and not imposed upon them any thing cruel or unmerciful.
This done and signed the Church called Lebanon, May 21, 1854.
