Seeking information on Obediah DRISKILL, born 3-19-1783 in Virginia, came to
Louisiana in 1818. Lived in an area that is now in Bienville Parish, near

here, as well. Both moved to Union County, Arkansas about 1836, Obediah died
there in 1843. Legross moved on to Texas about 1853. I believe they were
accompanied by families named THOMPSON (Creed, Judith Ann), YOUNG (William),

My ancestor,
Joab SCALLORN, was born 06 Jan 1823, probably in Claiborne Parish, where
he grew up. His parents were John SCALLORN and Jane Hays DREW, who
obviously divorced after his birth. They both appear later in Claiborne
Parish married to other spouses. I have a lot of information on the DREW
family, but I lose John SCALLORN. I think he is the same as the John
SCALLORN in Jackson Parish in the 1850 census. If so, his second wife is
Elizabeth? Does anyone know Elizabeth's last name or where John SCALLORN
died? I know he had died by 1851 when Joab relinquished rights to his
property and then moved to Grimes Co., TX. Would like to hear from
anyone interested in these families.

probably married Asa's father in Claiborne Par. ca 1835. Besides John M.
