John Daniel was borned in Ga. According to the 1860 census he was living in
Wiseville with his brothers and sisters. The census only used initials for given
names. John and Josephine were identified by name. Josephine married Joel Armor.
I found their marriage license in Columbia Co. Ar. John served in the Civil War
enlisting at Monroe, La.I have very little information about John. He died in
1879. He was probably buried at Old Shongaloo cemetery. He married Betty
Tillery. Thank you.

I am
trying to trace the DILLARD side of my family. My grandmother was Lena
Maggie DILLARD, b Feb 1, 1880 and died Feb 13, 1980 in Homer, LA
(Claiborne Parish). She was married to Wm Leonard Menefee. Her parents
were Saxon Dillard, b May 2, 1853 in Farmerville, LA (Lincoln Parish)
and died Aug 23, 1915 in Simsboro (Lincoln Parish) He married Sara
Elizabeth McFarland Mar 22, 1877 in Lincoln Parish. His father was B F
DILLARD, b Feb 29, 1820 In Virginia and died Oct 20, 1884 in Union
Parish. He married Ellen Jasper Clark Feb 1848. Any additional

I'm looking for ancestors and descendants of Jonathan L.
SMITH, b. 1815 in Pendleton District, S.C., moved to Walton County, GA
with his parents where he married Sarah Ann BEAN (1815-1885) in 1835.
(Sarah is the daughter of John BEAN (1792-1871.) Jonathan and Sarah
moved with their 2 children, John and Rutha (Sarah) Jane sometime in
late 1839 to Claiborne Parish, LA where their sons James and David were
born. They left LA (Bienville Parish) in 1850 for Jasper Co., TX. Their
son Ruben was born in 1855. Jonathan "Jot" SMITH died in 1903 in Jasper
County, TX. I will exchange information and current research.

the family of Charles HAYS, who was born in Davidson Co. TN and who,with
wife Mouning ENOCHS, moved to Claiborne Parish prior to 1830. They had
at least 3 sons: Samuel, John and Chad. Samuel and John moved to
Bienville Parish prior to 1850. I would like to know where Charles and
wife are buried and who his other children were. Any info greatly

1838 and d. Aug 27,1922. He married Georgia Fortson. They were from
Homer, LA and are buried in Forest Grove Cemetery. They had 3 sons and 1

trying to find information of my gggrandfather, John West MELTON. I know
he came from Alabama to Louisiana and was a circuit riding preacher. At
one time he was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Homer. I don't
have any other information about him. My ggrandfather was Willie Ardis
Melton who married Fanny Blanche THURMOND. They lived in Lisbon. My
grandfather was Harvey Mahan Melton who married Virginia Ruth REEDER.

I am looking for information on a John West Melton who came to Louisiana
from Alabama. He was a circuit riding preacher and was pastor of First
Baptist Church of Homer at one time. His son, Willie Ardis Melton,
married Fanny Blanche Thurmond. They lived in Lisbon, LA. One of their

Seek information on
classmate named GAY LIGHTFOOT. Attended school with Gay in the first and
second grade at Haynesville La. She moved away and never regained
contact with her. She would be about 55 or 56 years old today. Her
father was possible in the oil field buisness.

RHYNES EASON WELLS DRINKWATER WADE JACKSON BUCKLEY
I have found my
family on the 1880 census of Claiborne Parish. Two of their oldest
children were not on the census with the family. Elisha"Lidge" Bailey
was put in the Insane Asylum in the late 1870's or 1880's. I have found
the Asylum in Jackson,Louisiana, East Feliciana Parish. They say that he
was never seen again. I am also looking for St.Rest Baptist Church
Cemetery in the Athens ares and Point Plesant Cemetery. Oliver & Elsey
Bailey might have been buried at one of these cemeteries. I know that
their daughter Mary Bailey-Jackson is buried at Point Plesant Cemetery
in 1949. I am also looking for Ben,Henry,Bill,Fannie Buckley. In 1929
they were sharecroppers for Avery Gladney in the Tulip area. Ben,Henry
was last known to have lived in the Haynesville area as late as 1976.

decendents of a john newsom and was married to a catherine mccardale.he
was born in 1811/12 in bibb co. georgia.and she also i guess.they were
married in bibb co on nov 25,1830. they were listed in the 1860
census.he was later in bibb co for a court trial in 1875.his father was
henry and his mother was elizabeth(potts).but his trail is lost after
that.but i have all the decendents after him,of which i am one.but where
he died and where he was buried i do not have.any help would be

Surnames: DYER STEVENSON
Looking for evidence on children of James Dyer and Polly Stevenson. They
arrived in Claiborne Parish around 1813-15 from Tennessee by riverboat.
He was first State Representative from Claiborne Parish after Statehood.
He also served as Sheriff around 1835.
