Authement, Oscar Octave & Eva Eulalie

Oscar Octave Authement

Oscar Octave Authement was born on 14 Jan 1864 in Houma, Terrebonne Parish. He is the son of Syvere Authement and Azeline Josephine Authement. There were 7 children of this union in the 1910 cenus: Azelina, Laura, Ambrose, Luce, Louise, Lanest and Wallace. He died 24 Aug 1945 and is buried in St. Joseph Cemetry.

The 1910 census shows that his native toung is French and had been married 24 years. The 1920 census shows that his children have moved out of the house and he lists himself as a farmer.

The 1880 census shows him with his parents as a 14 year old boy. His siblings listed as Clemas, Joseph, Orestile, Ambrose, Augustine and Felicia. They range in age from 19 to 4 years old. All of the family were born in Louisiana.

Eva Eulalie Authement

Eva Eulalie Authement, daughter of Augustin Joseph and Adeline Marie Forest Authement,  was born 15 Dec 1866 in Montegut, Terrebonne Parish. She married Oscar on 28 Apr 1886 in Terrebonne Parish. She died on 18 Jun 1926 in Chauvin, Terrebonne, LA and is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery.

The 1850 census shows her father, Augustin and mother, Adeline, living with their two children, Augustin (age 5) and Angelique (age 2).

The 1860 census shows, Auguste & Adeline with their children: Augustin (age 12), Rosa (age 11), Polinaire (age 10), Andre (age 8), Trasimond (age 6), Octave (age 4), Gustave (age 2) and Lavina (age 13 -not sure if this is a sibling).

The 1880 census shows that she (Eva) is living with her grandfather, Lurosa Forest. Her mother's name is "Adel" (Adeline) Otiment (Authement). She  appears to have the following siblings: Paul (age 20), Theoline (age 19), Emile (age 6), Myrtle (age 4).
