Durocher, Louis Joseph AKA Joseph Bowers

L. Durocher and Margueritte Durocher are listed on the 1850 Jefferson Parish census in Carrollton. Their children that are listed are Louis J., Zelina and Emma. L. and Margueritte were born in Canada. I believe L.'s full name was Louis, and I know that his and Marguerittes sons full name was Louis Joseph. I do not know if L. and Margueritte appear on the 1860 census.

Louis Joseph was my great, great grandfather. He went by Joseph, and fought in the Civil War. Sometime between 1865 and 1870 he changed his name to Joseph Bowers. This was supposedly due to a murder he committed.

He married Caroline Broadway, my grandmother, and spent the rest of his life in western Arkansas. He died in Yell county, AR.
