Where God has seen fit in his great wisdom to take from us our friend and classmate, Beauford L. Mathis and whereas his gentlemanly conduct ready smiles and his kind word for everyone had endured him to the people of Verda, especially us, his classmates, therefore be it resolved that we extend our sincere sympathy and condolences to his family and bereaved ones and be it further resolved that his presence is greatly missed in his class and on the play ground by both his teachers and his classmates and that we recommend his cheerful greeting and manly conduct as an example to friends and classmates.
Be it further resolved that a copy of these resolutions be sent
to his parents, The Winnfild Comrade and The Colfax Chronicle for
publication.
