Below is information Marsha found on Roderick Joseph Watterston.
See Sons of the American Revolution Documents, page 1 & page 2.
Rebecca and George appear to be buried in Watterson Cemetery in Livingston Parish. This is conjecture only by Marsha. It IS NOT PROVEN.
He was applying for the Sons of the American Revolution. He was 41 years old, Dec 20, 1922 for the descendant of Nataniel Magruder. He lists the lineage of his family as follows:
He was born in Livingston Parish on 15 Nov 1881. He is the son of Charles Watterson, born 1847 and died 1884 and his wife Mary Kate Hutchison, born 1854, died 1920, married 1881.
He is the grandson of George Wedderburn Watterson and his wife Rebecca Bookter, died 1846. The attached image may NOT be for him. Further investigation would need to happen. However, according to the 1850 census, George W. Watterston was a lawyer, born in the District of Columbia and was living in Livingston, LA.
He is the great grandson of George Watterston, born 1783, died 1854 and his wife Maria A. Shanley. They married in 1811.
He is the great great grand son of Bernard Shanley and Sarah Magruder born 1765, died 1810, married in 1785.
He is the great great great grandson of Nathaniel Magruder, born 1716 and died 1785 and his wife Margaret Magruder, born 1733, died 1795.
He is the great great great great grandson of John Magruder, born 1694 and died 1750 and his wife Susanna Smith. They married in 1715.
