Curby Cemetery

The Curby Cemetery, located in the Kisatchie National Forest lands, west of the Forestry Work Center at Bellwood, LA, consists of a single grave whose simple tombstone is inscribed "In Memory of L.C. Curby". Adjacent to the Scenic View trail, the burial is one of several in small cemeteries in the area. Mainly abandoned, as the families have died out or moved away, these lonely sites are generally inaccesible to the public, but known to foresters and marked on forest maps.
