Gerald E. Dupuy Sr., 64, a retired employee of Trinity Marine and a resident of Brusly, died at 3:40 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008, at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Sunday, July 20, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, July 21, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Donald Ray. Interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Josey Brown Dupuy; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Sumrall, of Zachary; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald E. Jr. and Susan Dupuy, of Brusly; three sisters, Helen Sachetti, Katherine Boudreaux and Beverly Bernard; two brothers, Harold Dupuy and Robert Dupuy; two granddaughters, Misty Sumrall and husband Heath and Markie Sumrall; and two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Tristan. Preceded in death by his parents, Carl J. and Victoria H. Dupuy; two brothers, Irvin and C.J. Dupuy Jr.; and a sister, Delores Hubble. He was a graduate of Plaquemine High School. He loved to hunt and fish and was devoted to his family.
