Duplissey, Adolphus & Jeremiah

Adolphus and Jeremiah (Germain) Duplissey were sons of Dominique Plessy and Nancy Roe (Rowe). Dominique was born about 1777 in Bordeaux, France and died in 1821 in Avoyelles Parish. Nancy was born 1797 in Edgefield, South Carolina and died after 1856 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana.

Adolphus Duplissey

He was born June 17, 1817 in Avoyelles Parish and died February 17, 1902 near Indian Creek in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Adolphus moved to a part of Natchitoches Parish that later became Winn Parish, when he was about four years old. He moved away from Winn Parish after 1880. Adolphus first married to Matilda Ann Franks July 19, 1837 in Natchitoches Parish. She was the daughter of Joseph Franks and Rebecca Thompson. Adolphus married second time to Nancy E. Gibson on December 4, 1877 in Caldwell Parish.

His picture was taken about 1900 near Indian Creek in Rapides Parish, Louisiana.

Jeremiah (Germain) Duplissey

He was born December 11, 1819 in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana and died about 1890 in a part of St. Landry Parish that later became Evangeline Parish. When Jeremiah Duplissey was about three years old, he moved to a part of Natchitoches Parish that later became Winn Parish. Jeremiah grew up in Natchitoches and Winn parishes and raised half of his family in these parishes. Jeremiah first married Rachel Franks May 11, 1841 in Natchitoches Parish. She was the daughter of Joseph Franks (born 1796 in Tennessee) and Rebecca Thompson. His second wife was Lessie Rials, and they married about 1874.

Jeremiah "Jerry" Duplissey and his wife, Louisiana Jane Walker

This picture is Jeremiah (Jerry) Duplissey that was taken about 1900. He was born April 4,1843 in a part of Natchitoches Parish that later became Winn Parish. He died March 6,1917 in Lonepine, Evangeline Parish,Louisiana. His parents were Adolphus Duplissey and Matilda Ann Franks. Jerry married about
1870 to Louisiana Jane Walker. Her parents were James Walker and Samantha Jane
Durbin.

This picture is Louisiana Jane Walker Duplissey. She was born August 23, 1854 in Natchitoches Parish,Louisiana and died April 10,1950 in Glenmora,Rapides Parish,Louisiana.Her parents were James Walker and Samantha Jane Durbin. Her father died in the Civil War. In 1865 her mother married John W. Elkins and they lived in Winn parish. About 1870, Louisiana Jane Walker married Jeremiah (Jerry)Duplissey of Winn Parish. Sometime later they moved to Rapides Parish,Louisiana.
